Consolidated Catalina, RAAF Serial A24-10, believed to be attached to No. 20 Squadron RAAF given the paint scheme and the absence of a squadron code on the aircraft.
A24-10 was delivered to Australia in in September 1941 and was allocated to No. 11 Squadron the following month. It served with No. 20 Squadron RAAF from July 1942 and with No. 3 Operational Training Unit from April 1943. A24-10 was used operationally by both No. 11 Squadron RAAF and No. 20 Squadron RAAF. A24-10 survived the war and was sold as surplus in about 1947. A24-10 was one of the RAAF’s initial order of 18 Catalinas and one of five Catalinas from the initial order to survive the war.
