Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Stanley James Tiver, 43rd Australian Infantry Battalion, Australia, 1915-1917.
Collection consists of a letter written by Lt Tiver to his family prior to his departure to Europe, dated 14 November 1915. The letter was to be read upon the occasion of Lt Tiver's death, should he have died during the war. Lt Tiver survived the war, returned to Australian in March 1919 and was discharged in May 1919.
Also included in the collection is an in memoriam card commemorating the death of Lt Tiver's brother, 2458 Private Frank Harold Tiver, 50th Infantry Battalion. Pte Frank Tiver was killed in action in France on 2 April 1917.
