Description
A large shaped spiral of incense burning inside a Saigon temple. The cone-shaped coil is hung from the ceiling by strings and burns continuously. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller notes: "It took me by surprise, the first one I saw one of these, as I was raised in the Methodist religion and we didn’t go in for incense."
