Description
Studio portrait of 28910 Acting Corporal (Cpl) Walter Howard Wivell, 7th Field Artillery Brigade. A seaman from Inslington, NSW, Cpl Wivell enlisted in June 1916 and embarked with the Medium Trench Mortar Battery, 2nd Reinforcements, aboard HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 30 September 1916. On arriving in England, he reverted to the rank of Gunner (Gnr) and was later transferred to the 7th Field Artillery Brigade. Gnr Wivell returned to Australia in January 1919.
