Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of 25 Private Thomas James Richards, 1st Australian Field Ambulance. The entries in this diary span the period 25 April to 14 June 1915 and cover the landing at Gallipoli on the morning of 25 April 1915, and the retrieval and treatment of wounded on the day and in the weeks after. At the time of the landing, Richards was promoted to the rank of lance corporal. This diary was originally bound by Richards into the second of four volumes and donated to the Australian War Memorial in 1933.
