Description

Collection relating to 2144 Corporal (Cpl) John Howard Cherry, 59th Australian Infantry Battalion, who was killed in action in France on 4 July 1918. Comprises a 2 page handwritten Will, dated 21 February 1918, and signed John Howard Cherry, an envelope address to Thomas L Adams, 'To be opened on the day of my death is announced in the official casualty list, or if posted as missing four months after peace is signed. JHC', and a newspaper clipping from The Argus, Saturday 27 July 1918, listing Cpl Cherry as amongst those men killed in action.
