Three Obituary Cards (with photographs) for the Andrews Brothers, all killed in action during the First World War. The brothers were from Ma Ma Creek, a small town in the Lockyer Valley region of Queensland. 4357 Private James Martin Andrews was killed in action on 5 August 1916 in France aged 26; 2127 Private George Henry Andrews was killed in action on 9 June 1917 in Belgium aged 28; 4358 Private Bertie Reginald Andrews was killed in action on 10 June 1918 in France aged 20 years. The three names are the only ones to appear on the Ma Ma Creek War Memorial, which was erected in 1920 by their mother, Fleurine Elsie Andrews. The Ma Ma Creek War Memorial was placed on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992 and is the focus of Anzac Day ceremonies for the local community.
