Major General (Maj Gen) Ian Gordon, the Head of Mission United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO), receives a briefing from an unidentified UN Military Observer at an Observation Post on the Golan in 2007. This is one of a series of photographs relating to Maj Gen Ian Gordon AO who retired from the Australian Army in 2009. Maj Gen Gordon had a long and distinguished career culminating as Deputy Chief of Army (2004-2006) and Head of Mission (Chief of Staff) of UNTSO (2006-2008).
