Informal portrait of two senior officers. Major General (Maj Gen) Ian Gordon, Head Of Mission, United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO) (left) and Maj Gen John Cantwell (right). Maj Gen Cantwell visited UNTSO Headquarters in Jerusalem during his tour of the Middle East operation sites. This is one of a series of photographs relating to Major General (Maj-Gen) Ian Gordon AO who retired from the Australian Army in 2009. Maj-Gen Gordon had a long and distinguished career culminating as Deputy Chief of Army (2004-2006) and Head of Mission (Chief of Staff) of UNTSO (2006-2008).
