A United States Army CH-47F Chinook takes off after transporting Australian soldiers and supplies to Patrol Base Samad. One of a series of photographic studies taken by the Australian War Memorial's Official Artist Ben Quilty, who travelled to Afghanistan with the Australian Defence Force in October 2011.
