Studio portrait of Lieutenant Colonel Walter Churchus, 7th Field Artillery Brigade (7 FAB). A builder of Elsternwick, Vic, prior to enlistment, he embarked as a Major with the 29th Battery, 8 FAB, on HMAT Medic on 20 May 1916. He was killed in action on 1 April 1918 and is buried at Heilly Station Cemetery Mericourt-L'Abbe. He was aged 38 years.
