Australian re-inforcements arrive Vietnam. DPR/TV/295
Description
A further 350 Australian troops comprising armour, artillery, engineers, signals, light aircraft and logistic elements arrived in Vietnam aboard the RAN troop carrier HMAS 'Sydney' to bring the Australian combat forces in Vietnam to battalion group size. Aboard HMAS Sydney were Sioux helicopters and Cessna aircraft of the Australian Army's 16th Light Aircraft Squadron. The Cessna aircraft were unloaded by an American twin engined H37 helicopter. Armoured personnel carriers, 105mm pack Howitzers and trucks were unloaded by crane into American landing craft to be ferried ashore. The troops were ferried ashore in Dukws.
