Ground staff (Flight Sergeant Oswald 'Ossie' Ferguson)
Description
Portrait of Flight Sergeant Oswald 'Ossie' Ferguson, ground staff, No 10 Squadron, RAAF. The young man from Goulburn smiles confidently and self-assuredly at the viewer, his tinsnips nonchalantly held in his hand as he leans against a cabinet. A fitter, he worked on Sunderland aircraft in the workshops at Mount Battern, Plymouth. Ferguson was on leave in London when he was killed by a flying bomb on 30 June 1944, aged 33, and is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Woking UK.
