Description

The spirit of the Protest was humorously nicknamed after the Spirit of Progress. This train picks up troops and stores at Larrimah railhead for transport to Darwin. The men sleep and eat en route in cattle trucks during the 24 hour trip - assuming the old locomotive makes the grade. The engine has been known to make three attempts to climb a slight hill.
