Inside Changi camp
Description
Australian men sawing log with crosscut saw on a saw horse with an improvised trailer lying nearby. The wood would form a part of the camp, such as a hut, for the POWs. Physical work such as this was an integral part of Griffin's time as a prisoner. As he held rank as an officer he was not detailed to work on the Burma-Thailand railway and as such he spent most of his time on work parties doing chores around Changi prison.
