3 inch Mortar Bipod
Description
The mortar bipod is made from ordnance steel and is painted olive drab. It can be folded for transportation. It has provisions for windage and elevation. The mortar barrel clamp is attached to the bipod.
History / Summary
3 inch mortar barrel bipod issued to D Company 7 Volunteer Defence Corps (VDC), New South Wales, made by Sergeant John Illingsworth of Manly. The mortar was used for training and instructional purposes at the outbreak of the Second World War.
