History / Summary
This unit flag belonged to 21 Infantry Battalion and was made by the regimental tailor in June 1917. It was flown over 'Anzac House', a newly captured German pill box near Polygon Wood, on 21 September. It was subsequently flown on 4 October at Broodseinde, to mark the battalion's headquarters. During this period, it was badly torn by shell fire.
