British Artillery Officer Sword : New South Wales Artillery
Description
British Artillery Officer Sword. Three bar steel guard, backstrap and pommel that have traces of silver paint. The guard is stamped NSWG over 6 on the outside and 3/93 over CT over I on the inside near the quillon. The grip is fishskin bound with brass wire. The slightly curved blade has a flat back and a single fuller on each side to within 12 inches of the double edged spear point.
History / Summary
This sword is reputed to have been removed from General Bridges grave at Duntroon on the evening of the burial.
