Studio portrait of 2264 Private (Pte) Harry Joseph Costello, 22nd Battalion. A chauffeur prior to enlistment, Pte Costello embarked from Melbourne for overseas service on 27 September 1915. He was killed in action during the battle of Pozières on 5 August 1916, aged 30 years old.
