Studio portrait of 2660 Private (Pte) John Thomas Haggis, 29th Battalion, 8th Company Machine Gun Corps. A plumber from Carngham, Victoria, Pte Haggis enlisted on the 21 February 1916, and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Anchises (A68) on 14 March, 1916. Pte Haggis was killed in action, 3 May 1917 in France, age 30.
