Description
Portrait of two Australian soldiers of the 5th Division, Lance Corporal [no evidence for this rank] 2413 Edgar David Granger (left) and 2457 Private Robert Thompson Moore, both of the 55th Battalion. The two men were stretcher bearers together and were friends back in Australia. Both men were killed by the same shell on 2 September 1918 during the fighting at Peronne, along with 2128 Private Alexander Baker and 3242 Richard Wearne, both also of the 55th Battalion.
