Studio portrait of 5689 Private (Pte) Robert Cedric Dorman, 4th Battalion. Pte Dorman, a clerk from Leichhardt NSW, had four years experience in the senior cadets before he enlisted in January 1916, three months after his 18th birthday. Following a period of training he embarked at Sydney with the 18th Reinforcements of the 4th Battalion on 3 June 1916. In September 1916 he joined his battalion in France. On 5th May 1917 Pte Dorman died of wounds received during the second battle of Bullecourt.
