Studio portrait of 2766 Private (Pte) Arthur Henry Tucker, 60th Battalion, of Newport, Vic. A driver prior to enlistment, Pte Tucker embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 2 October 1916. Pte Tucker was later promoted to Lance Corporal and died on 26 April 1918 from wounds received at Villers-Bretonneux. He was aged 21. Pte Tucker was buried at Vignacourt British Cemetery. His brother, 2461 Pte Charles William James Tucker, was killed in action in France on 28 July 1916.
