Studio portrait of 2131 Private (later Corporal (Cpl)) Charles Oakley Erwood, 11th Battalion and his nieces Olive, Elsie and Emily (front), of Kerang, Vic. A contractor prior to enlistment, he embarked from Fremantle, WA, with the 6th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Geelong (A2) on 6 June 1915. Cpl Erwood died of wounds on 11 August 1918. He was 38 years of age.
