Identified from left to right, back row: 2489 Private (Pte) Reuben Clarence Smith, 56th Battalion; 2485 Pte Cyril Thomas Smith, 56th Battalion (brother of Reuben Smith) (killed in action in Belgium on 23 September 1917); Tom Murphy (probably 2437 Pte Thomas Joseph Murphy, 56th Battalion); 2455 Pte James Overend, 56th Battalion; and 2414 Pte William Burnett Heath, 56th Battalion.
