Group portrait of the members of F Company, 5th Battalion, Casino Senior Cadets, at Casino Showground. Many of these boys and young men went on to serve in the First and Second World Wars. Back row, left to right: Ken Gilmore (probably Kenneth Clyde Gilmore, served First and Second World Wars); H McMullen DCM (probably William Harold McMullen, killed in action 5 November 1916); Bert Munro; Bill Platt (probably William Josiah Platt, killed in action 8 July 1917); Aub Simpson; A B Elliott; Fred Stitz; A Lattimer (killed?, unable to further identify) and A Groves (possibly Alexander Groves, killed in action 4 July 1918). Third row: H Hanson (killed, unable to further identify); Bill Olive (probably Arthur William Olive, served First and Second World Wars); Herbert Allan Marks (died of wounds 2 October 1917); unidentified; Sid Rann; Nev Mackney; Stan Alcock (killed, unable to further identify); Bill May; Sid Harvison (probably Walter Sydney Harvison, died of disease 3 November 1918) and Leo Page.
