Informal outdoor portrait of brothers 402670 Sergeant (Sgt) Robert William Ogilvie RAAF (left), and 32081 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Charles Ogilvie RAAF (right), with two women. A student from Edgecliff, NSW, in civilian life, Sgt Robert Ogilvie enlisted on 18 September 1940 and while serving with 50 Squadron RAF was killed during operations over France on 6 June 1942. An engineer apprentice from Edgecliff, NSW, in civilian life LAC Charles Ogilvie enlisted on 1 July 1940. While serving with 11 Squadron Port Moresby LAC Ogilvie was accidently killed on 15 January 1942 in the sea at Kavieng, New Guinea. Their sister NX313 Shirley Ogilvie enlisted on 2 January 1940 and rose to the rank of Captain, serving with the Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC). She was twice Mentioned in Despatches.
