Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Staff Nurse Alice Margaret Betheras, Australian Army Nursing Service, Egypt. Collection consists of a notebook belonging to Alice Betheras, containing handwritten French language exercises covering dates from 14 of November 1916 to 12 January 1917. Also included is a small card from the Modern School of Languages in Cairo, advertising 'special French classes for military', that was found between pages in the notebook, and a copy of a black and white photograph (circa 1913) of Alice Betheras and three other trainee nurses in uniform from the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.
