Studio portrait of 6509 Private (Pte) Arthur Percival Ferguson, 16th Battalion. A commission agent from Pingelly, Western Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 21st Reinforcements from Fremantle aboard HMAT Port Macquarie on 13 October 1916 for Plymouth, England. After training in England he proceeded to France where he was transferred to the 32nd Battalion on 4 April 1917 at Guillemont, France. Pte Ferguson was wounded in action on 24 June 1918 near Corbie, France, died of these wounds four days later and is buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery. He was aged 27 years.
