Studio portrait of 2907 Private (Pte) Leslie Norman Davenport, 32nd Battalion. A warehouse checkman from Kensington, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 6th Reinforcements form Adelaide on 11 April 1916 for Suez. He relocated to his battalion on the Western Front, France, during August 1916. Pte Davenport was killed in action near Albert, France, on 16 February 1917. He has no known grave and he is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. He was aged 20 years.
