Grave of VX54324 Sapper (Spr) Edmund Hamilton Purdie, 2/13 Field Company, of Royal Park, Vic (originally of Auckland, New Zealand). A mining engineer prior to enlistment on 28 April 1941. Spr Purdie was killed in action on 25 October 1942; he was 38 years of age. Spr Purdie is buried at the El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
