Studio portrait of 3623 Private (Pte) Albert Stanley Perris, 28th Battalion, of Boulder, WA. A blacksmith's striker prior to enlistment, he embarked from Fremantle, WA, with the 8th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Borda (A30) on 17 January 1916. Pte Perris served on the Western Front; he was killed in action on 5 July 1916, 23 years of age. He is buried at the Rue-Du-Bois Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France.
