Description

2 copies of hard-bound autobiographical memoir, 'The Airborne Years: A personal account of wartime flying in the Royal Canadian Air Force' by J.A. Campbell. Campbell recounts his time spent flying with the RAF and RAAF as well as the RCAF. Campbell describes his experiences in 1942-1944 training and flying with 14 Operational Training Unit RAF, 61 squadron RAF, 463 squadron RAAF and 22 Operational Training Unit RAF. He also recalls two bombing attacks which occurred while he was on leave - a V2 rocket bombing during a trip to London as well as a raid at Bournemouth. Includes two pages of personal notes about fellow crew members. The second copy is signed by the author and contains photographs as well as text. A CD of the text, in PDF format, is included.
