Studio portrait of 2279 Private (Pte) Percy Smedley Draper, 4th Reinforcements, 4th Battalion and his friend 2204 Pte Royal Sharewood Mackey of the same reinforcement group and unit. A butcher of Clifton, NSW, prior to enlistment, Pte Draper embarked on HMAT Karoola (A64) on 15 June 1915. He was killed in action on the Gallipoli peninsula on 6 August 1915. Pte Mackey, formerly a blacksmith of Kogarah, NSW, was killed in action on the Gallipoli peninsula on 27 August 1915.
