Studio portrait of 2371 Private (Pte) Duncan Christopher McRae, 34th Battalion, of Tea Gardens, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting in May 1916, Pte McRae embarked from Sydney with the 4th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Borda (A30) on 17 October 1916. On 7 June 1917 he died of wounds received in action at Messines, Belgium. Pte McRae was 19 years of age.
