Studio portrait of 5332 Private George Francis Bell, 3rd Battalion of Liverpool, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard SS Makarini on 1 April 1916. He was killed in action in Flanders, Belgium, aged 29. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
