Description
Studio portrait of 1808 Private (later Corporal) Cecil James Norris, 30th (later 45th) Battalion of Granville, NSW. An accountant prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Berrima (A35) on 17 December 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 7 August 1916, aged 28. Post war his body was not recovered and he is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
