Studio portrait of 7772 Private Francis Bede Kennedy, 4th (later 35th) Battalion of North Parramatta, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard the HMAT Nestor (A71) on 28 February 1916. He was wounded in action at Bray, France, on 22 August 1918 and died of his wounds on 12 October 1918 at Rouen, France, aged 28. He is buried in the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.
