Studio portrait of 692 Private (Pte) Andrew (Andy) Summers, 3rd Machine Gun Company, of Kyogle, NSW. A farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Summers embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Suevic on 21 June 1917. He was wounded in action in France on 4 July 1918, and invalided to England. On 31 October 1918 he died of wounds and pneumonia at Oxford. He was aged 26.
