Studio portrait of 423427 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) (Air Gunner) Clive Arthur Rye, RAAF, of McMahons Point, NSW. A clerk in civilian life, Flt Sgt Rye originally enlisted in the Australian Army on 1 June 1942, as as NX96493 Private Rye . He transferred to the RAAFon 22 June 1942. Whilst attached to 76 Squadron RAF Flt Sgt Rye was killed on 1 March 1944 during operations over the United Kingdom. He was aged 20.
