Studio portrait of 1867 (later 1867A) Private (Pte) Frederick James Limpus, 42nd Battalion of Pickanjinnie, Queensland. A farmer prior to enlistment, he embarked on HMAT Boorara on 16 August 1916 with the 2nd Reinforcements. Pte Limpus died of wounds on 29 April 1917 and is buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England. He was aged 25 years.
