Memorial card studio portrait of 415117 Sergeant (Sgt) Cedric Arthur Chapman, 467 Squadron RAAF, of Mosman Park, WA. Sgt Chapman enlisted on 21 July 1941and was later promoted to Pilot Officer (PO). PO Chapman was killed on 13 July 1943, following operations over Turin, Italy. Eighteen aircraft from the squadron took part in the raid and three, including PO Chapman's Lancaster LM311, failed to return. During the mission his aircraft was severly damaged and crashed a short distance from the RAF Bottesford airfield, England, killing all seven crew members. PO Chapman was aged 20.
