Studio portrait of 774 Private (Pte) Albert Greenfield, 34th Battalion, of Killingworth, NSW. A miner prior to enlistment, Pte Greenfield embarked with C Company from Sydney on HMAT Hororata on 2 May 1916. On 16 December 1916 he was killed in action in France, aged 21. Pte Greenfield's brother, 3325 Pte Stephen Greenfield, was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 22 July 1916. Their brother-in-law, 1030 Pte Thomas Wood, was killed in action at Gallipoli on 21 September 1915.
