Studio portrait of 3943 Private Stanley Harold Roy, 11th Battalion of Boulder, WA. A labourer prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements on 22 November 1915, sailing on RMS Mongolia. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 25 July 1916. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial. He was aged 18 at the time of his death.
