Studio portrait in a memorial booklet of 4397 Private (Pte) Thomas McKenzie Chalmers, 27th Battalion of Frewville, SA, formerly of Perth, Scotland. A labourer prior to enlistment, Pte Chalmers embarked on board HMAT Shropshire (A9) on 25 March 1916. He was killed in action, aged 32, on the Somme, France, on 17 November 1916.
