"The Boer War and World War I: James Cue Ryan" compiled by Peter Kemp. A member of the 4th Light Horse Regiment served in the Boer War and then in Egypt, Gallipoli and Palestine as part of the First World War. Was involved in the Charge of Beersheba. The articles were written on the front line and sent back to The Maffra Spectator.
