Blackout outside, plenty of light inside with Philips lamps
Description
Second World War poster produced by Phillips Electrical Industries Pty Ltd advertising Phillips lamps. The text only poster uses colour to symbolise the effects of light and dark. On the left side of the poster, set jutting out of the rectangular edge, the title text appears in a palette shaped graphic of opposing dark/light colours. The rest of the text is centred in the other half of the poster in white, yellow and black set against a red background. The poster attempts to link brand loyalty with patriotic loyalty and refers directly to the black out conditions in Australia at the time.
