The grenade body is made of cast iron and is painted black and has no fuze. Markings - '4'.

History / Summary

Training hand grenade MK1A1 was a nonfunctioning type used for training in handling and throwing of Fragmentation Hand Grenade MK2. Grenade MK1A1 could be used for practice in throwing hand grenades in small confined areas because it was completely inert. The grenade was used principally to improve techniques in throwing and accuracy.
