Description
Manuscript titled "A Cook's Tour of the Pacific: the wartime reminiscences of an army cook", recounting author's personal experience of service in the Army and catering for the troops. Describes his training; how he joined the 2nd First Mechanical Equipment Company RAE; and then how he became a cook. Units he cooked for included the No. 1 and No. 3 Platoons. Manuscript discusses his time working as part of a road party in the Northern Territory, in New Guinea including Port Moresby and Lae; the Huon Peninsula Campaign; Saidor and Madang; and Brunei. It also includes Post War Poems.
