A gaggle of eight United States Army UH-1D or UH-1H Iroquois helicopters flying low to the ground during Operation Tamborine. Some Australian infantry from 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR) are visible standing in the long grass. At the completion of this operation, Australian casualties amounted to 18, including four killed. Most of these casualties were caused by friendly fire from 161 Battery, Royal New Zealand Artillery.
